Peek A Who?

Type of Activity: Name Game

Props Needed: One Tarp

Set Up: Need sitting room. Works well with 8-25 participants for 15 to 20 minutes.

Process: Divide the group into two groups.  The facilitator and one other person hold the tarp up in the center between the two groups.  While tarp is up each team sends a participant to the center.  On the count of three the tarp is dropped.  The chosen participants try to say the other participants name from the other team first.  Whoever can say the person's name who is on the other side of the tarp first wins that member for their team.  Group can not assist in guessing the name.  Game is over when all participants are on one side.  Have the group be as creative as possible when it is their turn up at the tarp!  I've seen some funny ones!

Variations: person picked goes to tar and sits with back to the tarp. When the tarp is dropped on “3” the group describes the participant their back is to until they say that participants name based on the description they received from their team.

Debriefing Topics:

  • Was it difficult to remember the names of the opposing team?
  • Why is it difficult to come up with answers when you are put on the spot?
  • Does this happen in real life?  How?
